I have seen a fair number of movies in my day. Jon and I like to Rent movies from time to time.
Based on my extensive research, I have come to the indisputable conclusion that "Amadeus" is the best movie that has ever been made. Don't argue with me on this point. I know what I am talking about.
My old friend Erika introduced me to this movie back in the day, and I have seen it so many times since then, I have lost count. If it is on TV, I will watch it.
Just in case you are living under a rock and have no idea what this movie is about, "Amadeus" is the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as told through the eyes of his contemporary and rival composor Antonio Salieri (who is living in an insane asylum).
There is so much that is good about this movie, not the least of which is the music. "But Kelly," I hear you saying, "I don't LIKE classical music." Sit down, shut you pie hole, and watch the movie. THEN tell me you don't like classical music. I dare you.
The costumes and makeup are amazing. In fact, the movie won the Oscar for both of those categories. Not to mention the freakin' BEST PICTURE Oscar. So now how do you dispute me? "
But Kelly, 'Titanic' won best picture and it SUCKED. Why should I believe you about this one?"
Because it doesn't suck, that's why.
Watch the movie, listen to Tom Hulce do his silly little Amadeus laugh, and then come back and apologize to me for doubting my opinion on this.
Yes, I am WELL AWARE that there was some dramatic license taken when this movie was made, and everything is not historically accurate. It's still a great movie. And if you haven't watched it, you better.
