Hotel Reservations

So Jon and I are trying to decide where we want go for our anniversary in October (yeah, we plan ahead). I think we have decided, for the moment at least, that we are going to make a swing up to Toronto/Niagara, and maybe drive to Ottawa or Montreal as well, depending on what the hockey schedule is at that time.

I have been doing some shopping around on the internet, as I am wont to do, and have found some good deals at Hotel Reservations. Their prices are good and competitive, and I was pretty impressed with the options they have on their site. You can, naturally, book a hotel, and they also have options for “vacation rentals,” which are like extended stays.... and of course, flights, rental cars, cruises... the whole ball of wax. Worldwide destinations are available, and all those are at competitive prices as well.

Something I immediately noticed with this site that I have never noticed with some of the other travel booking sites is that their phone number is prominently displayed on the home page. I think this is GREAT. I really hate booking something and not having a way to get in touch with someone if there is a problem. It’s nice also that they offer an international number as well...you never know when you might get into a bind when you’re on a trip.

I priced out a week-long package, including flights, at an upscale Toronto hotel, just to get an idea of what we would be looking at, dollar-wise... even though we probably won’t be staying there the whole week we are there. I got an extremely good price for the week in a 4-star hotel. I don’t normally like booking package deals, honestly, but I would give this site some serious consideration if you are looking for a vacation package, based on the price I got.
