Being on a budget sucks. Jon and I have some debt we are carrying from our time in FL, and we are cracking down and really monitoring our spending so we can get it paid off, and start saving up for other things.
I think budget planning is not addressed nearly enough in school. Jon and I both have pretty good financial heads on our shoulders, and are generally pretty savvy about our spending. We try to be responsible consumers and spenders, and probably would have no debt (with perhaps the exception of student loans) right now if not for FL.
There are tons of things you can do to help in your own budget planning and money-saving endeavors. A few examples are:
-Washing your clothes in cold water is much more cost-efficient than washing in hot (and is less likely to shrink them or set stains).
-Wholesale shopping is great for day-to-day items like toothpaste, deodorant, vitamins, etc.
-They last substantially longer while consuming much less energy.
The cool thing is, a lot of money-saving tips are also good for the enviroment too. So you're doing good in more than one way.
If you're trying to get in control of your finances, read up on these budget planning tips. You may just get a few good ideas.

Came for the tt and read this. great post. Consumer debt is a big problem and is getting worse as more of the Y generation enters life outside the nest.
Everyone wants it now, and the easiest way is CHARGE... and when the bill comes, as scooby says, ruh roh!
Did a florida vacation zap you?
