I've ordered a couple of things from Etsy in the past, but I've just recently started browsing through their kids' stuff.
Oh dear. There is so much cute stuff, it should be a crime.
Check out these lovely jingle balls, this awesome hockey shirt, and this *precious* retro swimsuit!
So much adorable, *handmade* stuff!

Too good to be true...
That's what the car seat deal was. Last night, I got the following email from target.com:
"Greetings from Target.com.
Due to an unexpected error, the following item(s) you have ordered
were incorrectly priced at the time of your order.
Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat - Granite
We're sorry, but we are unable to offer this item for the incorrect
price. The correct price is $279.99. We have canceled your order for
this item. If you would like to order this item at the correct price,
please visit Target.com to check for availability.
Despite our best efforts, a small number of items on our site are
occasionally mis-priced. We do, however, verify prices as part of our
shipping procedures. If we discover that an item's correct price is
higher than our stated price, we will either contact you for
instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of
the cancellation. This pricing policy is posted in the Help section
on Target.com.
Again, we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused
you. Thank you for being our valued guest.
Sincerely,
Guest Service Department
Target.com

What's really crappy, though, is that apparently some people are getting their orders filled, and others -- like me -- are not.
Boooo Target.

Another travel guide
I'm always on the lookout for new online travel guides. I like information.
United States Hotel Guides was a new site I recently checked out. It touts itself as a travel guide, but I really found it more to be an online booking engine, which is fine if that's what you're looking for.
To check things out, I looked up "San Francisco". I was brought to a page with some very high-level information about the city, a map showing some of the neighborhoods, as well as a few links to city events and other city sites. The main focus seemed to be the big date entry fields at the top of the page so you could search for a hotel.
Not a site that I would use on a regular basis, but it could come in handy in a pinch, maybe.

Sweet, sweet Smorty
Smorty. It's a funny word, eh? Say it -- smorty. Smorty, Smorty, Smorty.
I don't know what the word itself means, but I can tell you what it does. It lets you get paid for blogging. And that makes Smorty pretty cool in my book.
Basically, Smorty hooks up people who are wanting to advertise on blogsa and bloggers who are wanting to get paid for blogging. As a blogger, you sign up for tasks to write about. You write, review, give your opinion -- and then you get paid. That's really the best part, isn't it? I mean, everyone likes money. At least everyone I know. Maybe I run in an odd circle.
Anyway, I digress. Bottom line is this -- if you blog, and you like to review various websites and services and other things, and you want to make some extra money, go ahead and sign up. You'll probably be glad you did.

Need a loan?
Aside from big cities, almost anywhere you live in this country, you need a car to get around. It's just the way things are laid out. Public transportation isn't great in most places, and I mean, you have to get to work (or where ever).
But sometimes, obtaining a vehicle is easier said than done, especially if you have less-than-stellar credit. What's someone supposed to do in that situation? Chances are, you're going to have to take out an Auto Loan... most people don't just have cold hard cash sitting around to buy a car with.
Sometimes you can get a good deal on a loan online...definitely something worth looking into.

Give a little support during the holidays
Alzheimer's Disease is one of the saddest of all diseases, in my opinion. It robs someone you love of their memory and facilites, leaving nothing but a shell of the former person you once knew. It can be a devastating diagnosis and progression for families, and can cause much stress for the person who is responsible for being a caregiver.
With the holidays upon us, maybe you are struggling to find the perfect gift for someone you know and love. Why don't you visit the Alzheimer's Foundation of America eStore? If you purchase a holiday gift from them, all the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Foundation. They even have special gifts available for caregivers...what a heartfelt gesture that would be for someone who is caring for (or who has cared for) an Alzheimer's patient.
Of course, the ideal scenario that would occur is that a cure is found -- and soon. But the reality is that a cure may be many years in the future. In the meantime, it is really important to ensure quality care for those who suffer from this debilitating disease. This simply cannot and should not be overlooked...and this makes the holidays an even better time to purchase a gift or make a donation through the eStore.
According to the Alzheimer's website, Alzheimer's currently affects an estimated five million Americans, and the number is expected to triple by mid-century. One in ten Americans aged 65 or older and nearly half of those 85 or older are stricken with this devastating disease. My grandfather was one of those people. For every individual afflicted with Alzheimer's or a related illness, surveys indicate that one to four caregivers carry the responsibility of care.
Clearly, many, many people are impacted by this disease. Check out their website, and do something if you can.

Planning trips to new places
Planning trips is one of my favorite things to do...yeah, I'm a dork. Even if I don't have anything on the horizon, I love to research various destinations and places, and find out things to do in the area. I even like researching travel deals to see what kind of rates are available...I mean, you never know when the chance will come up to take a trip. For instance, check out these flights to Kefalonia. I'd never even HEARD of Kefalonia before I saw this site! (For reference, they filmed "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" there). It's cheap to go there, and it's gorgoeus! If I lived in the UK (which is where those deals are from), I'd be on the next plane, let me tell you!

Everyone who has a website wants to drive traffic to it -- it's a fact. One way to do this is through targeted ads. Bidvertiser lets you, in just a few minutes, decide where you want your ad to be placed, created it, and have it online. Sounds easy, right? Even cooler is the fact that you only pay for each click that you receive on your ad...so if you're not getting traffic, for whatever reason, you're not paying. Makes sense to me. Click Here to Signup as a BidVertiser Referral! You can get $20 in free clicks, plus referral fees. Nice.
Press Release:
BidVertiser is used by tens of thousands of bloggers to make money from their blogs by showing the BidVertiser ppc ads. Anyone can join BidVertiser either as a publisher or an advertiser, but we would like to share a new opportunity that not everyone is aware of:

Keep me safe
In case you haven't met me, I'm a huge klutz. I once walked slam into a plate glass window at work. Thank goodness I don't work in an environment that's actually hazardous... physically, I mean. If I ever did, I'd have to stock up on all manner of safety equipment. Eye and face protection, fall protection. slush boots...these are all things that could save me from a potential tragedy. If I ran into a situation where I needed any of this type stuff, I certainly wouldn't want to have to wait for it... I'd want it available from somewhere fully stocked, with same-day shipping. 'Cause dang it, my life's on the line!

More Mutsy!
I've been doing a good deal of looking at baby paraphernalia lately. You gotta have a good stroller, and I have to say, Mutsy strollers look awesome. They come in great colors and have tons of easy-to-interchange parts. They're very modern-looking, which I'm always a sucker for. Take one for a test-drive at your local store! :)

Art auctions
I collect animation art, and I like to go on cruises. Imagine how excited I was when I found out about Park West at Sea. Park West Gallery, which is home to the largest fine art collection in the world, holds art auctions on a number of different cruise lines. In fact, I've now gotten 2 or 3 animation pieces from these very auctions! Of course, they have tons of different art available aside from animation. And they make the process easy and ship the art right to your home after the cruise ends -- already framed.
Check them out at their website, or if you happen to go on a cruise. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a neat experience.

Bad credit, no credit, everybody rides!
In my line of work, I know that there are a lot of people out there with bad credit. Sometimes, you have to do things to try and repair your credit and get yourself back on your feet financially. Don't jump on board with the first offer you get though -- make sure to compare and get what best fits your needs.
Mama needs a new pair of shoes
While the idea of an online casino is somewhat intriguing to me, I always have wondered how you know which ones are legitimate and which ones are a scam. Also, how do you find out which ones offer games you want to play? Well, now there's an easy way to find out at www.pro360.com, which is an online casino review site. Basically, they've done all the leg work for you. They've got reviews of over 3000 online casinos, and have them broken out by things such as game experience, trust score, and which casinos offer bonuses (and what kind). Every player has their own things that they're looking for, and you can narrow your search by these preferences. It seems like this site would certainly help to take a lot of the guesswork out of finding a reputable online casino, if one were inclined to look for such a thing.

Interesting idea
Anytime@Anywhere offsite backup can remotely back up the information on your computer. I can see this being useful for individuals, with things like photos, music, and emails, as well as small (or maybe large) business owners, with contact info, business records, etc. They even have a free trial available...something worth looking into.

The Next Internet Millionaire
I've been known to watch a little reality tv now and then, but until now, I've never heard of The Next Internet Millionaire. In the first episode, it seems there was some worm-eating going on. (I'm not really sure what that has to do with the internet or becoming a millionaire, but I guess you gotta eliminate people somehow.) The next challenge seems somewhat more tame -- coming up with the perfect book title. A little more my speed than digesting worms.

Internets shoppin'
If you sell stuff through this here interwebs, you have to have a good site to attract customers. Your site has to be easy to understand and navigate, and one of the most important things you have to have is a good, user-friendly shopping cart system. I have shopped on some sites that have great shopping carts, and some that have terrible set-ups.
If you have a website (or are thinking of starting one) to sell your wares, you'll need good shopping cart software. It's an easy way to help keep your customers happy. Ashop Commerce provides an easy, complete solution for merchants to sell their items online. They actually help you set up your online store, and you can try them out free for 10 days if you want to be sure their services are going to work for you.
Check them out if you are looking to set up a website for online sales.

Beach cruisin' on a beach cruiser
Jon and I had planned to rent beach cruiser bikes last month when we were down at the beach, but we never quite got around to it. But how fun would that have been? Of course, we were kind of far from the main drag area, so it might have been totally pointless, but I think it'd have still been fun.
I love the idea of a beach cruiser, mainly because it requires very little skill to ride one. If you know me at all, you know coordination is not my strong suit. I'm not good at doing things like shifting gears and using hand brakes. I need one speed -- slowish -- and coaster brakes are my favorite kind. I can move my feet backwards better than I can remember to squeeze something on the handle bars.
A beach bike is made for leisure riding -- and that's my kind of riding.
You can purchase a beach cruiser online and have it shipped right to your home -- these guys have clients in all 50 states. And you can get one for under $100!
Just be careful when you're out cruising the strip -- don't let Debo steal your ride. He won't want to give it back. "MY bike!"

Almost Famous
Who wouldn't Like To Be Famous? Well, me, for one, but there are a lot of people who do want to be famous. Buy yourself some pixels, post a picture, and tell everyone how much you'd like to be famous. What do you want to be known for? Get the word out!

Not just a photo
Do you have a favorite photo?
-Why, yes, Kelly, I do. Doesn't everyone?
Probably. What if that photo could be something *besides* a photo just hanging on the wall?
-What? You're making no sense, stop your blathering.
No really. Think about it -- a Photo Blanket, photo shower curtain, photo pillow. Totally customizable... even text.
-That sounds crazy.
Well, it might sound crazy, but it's the real deal. And they're totally washable too.
-You can't wash photos.
But it's not just a photo anymore, now is it? Go see for yourself how it works.

A new way to play
Well, here's an interesting way to learn to play the piano -- this Piano Chords Blog. I think this would be a great resource for someone just learning to play, and a good supplement to "in-person" lessons as well. Chord Guy, the author of the blog, provides all kind of information on theory, improvisation, and of course, chords.
